He founded the firm Urban Robot (URBOT) in 1971, which became Toyo Ito \u0026amp; Associates, Architects in 1979. His research combines the physical and virtual worlds, taking architectural concepts to the extreme. His most famous buildings include the Sendai Mediatheque and the Tama Art University Library in Tokyo. In addition to his design works, he also lectures academically.
